Teaching English as a Second or Other Language
This statement of purpose example is short and sweet. It's important to follow the guidelines on length and content that will be provided in the application.
"This is my personal statement when applying for ESOL jobs overseas. The job at Luoyang University was offered to me quite quickly."
Being born in England I am a native English Speaker.I moved to Australia and now reside in New Zealand where my job has been working as a mental health worker and volunteering as an ESOL teacher/counsellor to new migrants and refugees.
My reason for career change has been led by the need for a new challenge, and to work with people in a stimulating and interactive career. As far as career choices go, ESOL seems to offer those things and and also bring about a sense of cultural enhancement and personal reward. I believe that job satisfaction and I have received a TESOL certification (with distinction) with Teach International, which is a one month course offered in New Zealand, I am also LATIE accredited.
I am looking at ESOL as a full time careerand as such I am interested in institutions that offer long term roles and the opportunity to develop my career further. I would preferably like to be working with disadvantaged students in lower socio economic areas which I believe would not only benefit the students but also myself.
